This is the first post for the DebateComics.org site. We will be posting information about current research and development at the organization and problems we run into.
Today we dealt with an ever shrinking hard drive due to an infinite backup system. The problem was corrected this morning and should improve the site's response time.
A new feature for the site administrators was added about a week ago. We added tracking software to the site to give us better statistics as to who uses the site and why. Not only will this let us improve technical aspects, but also refine content on the pages.
Last month the site moved to a new ISP which is providing a faster connection so that page load times will drop and the site will be more reliable.
We also made plans to start a new administrative interface to streamline the update process. This will allow for more update, more often improving the sites appearance. Although it has no direct effect on site visitors it will in the end make the site better for everyone.
We are planning to do further testing on cross-browser performance, but at the moment we have ensured that the site works properly on Firefox and Internet Explorer.
